Scorpio New Moon November 14, 2020.

This New Moon is at 23 degrees and 18 minutes of Scorpio and occurs at 11:07 PM Central Time on November 14, 2020. The root energy in the date of this Moon is 20/2–Relationship, Duality, Cooperation.

This Scorpio New Moon makes a pleasing aspect to Jupiter, Pluto and Saturn in Capricorn. The Ancients called this aspect a Sextile. It’s kind of like these planets are holding hands in friendship if they make the effort. Cooperation is needed, but the potential exists to get along and work together. So, the Sun and Moon coming together form a new beginning but in Scorpio that won’t be all unicorns and rainbows.

There will be some difficult things that need to be brought out and dealt with. Jupiter, Pluto and Saturn in Capricorn want to dig deep into what isn’t working anymore in the old structure and Jupiter is keen on building a structure built on a new vision. However, Saturn may be a bit stubborn and prefer to keep things the way they are. If this new vision is built on a solid foundation there is potential for two sides (Sextile Aspect) to begin discussing some deep rooted issues (Mercury in Pluto) that need to be worked through so that healing (Pluto) can begin. Mars, the ruler of Scorpio just stationed direct the day before so while this is positive, it may take some time to see results. Mars is still moving slow right now and the planets that this New Moon aspects are ruled by Saturn. Saturn loves to take his sweet time before committing but that’s just because he wants to make sure he’s backing something that is solid.

Scorpio is Fixed Water energy. Picture stagnant water. In Scorpio, still waters run deep and stagnant water requires sifting through some murky stuff and cleaning the pool before it’s fit to swim in. This New Moon has the potential for teamwork but some toxins need to be cleaned up before it feels safe to drink.  New Moons are ideal for planting seeds. What is possible together?

If you want to work consciously with this energy, this is the beginning of a new cycle, so now would be an ideal time to take part in this process. I like to keep a journal and track this cycle which takes about 27 months to complete.

Here are some practical tips to help work with this New Moon:

  1. Within 8 hours of the Scorpio New Moon on November 14, 2020 (again, the time is 11:07 PM if you’re in the Central Time Zone) jot down your New Moon Wishes in your journal. I like to keep a separate “Moon Journal” for the entire 27 month process.
  2. I usually write at least three wishes or intentions but no more than 10 which tends to dilute the energy. It’s also important to hand write your wishes.
  3. Find the area of your chart where Scorpio rules and tailor your thoughts around the themes of this house as well as the archetype of Scorpio. This allows you to work with this energy and makes it personal to you.

To help give some ideas about this archetype, Scorpio rules power, politics, psychology, self-mastery, finances and crisis skills to name a few.

Let your intentions revolve around transforming power struggles into cooperation. Eliminating old baggage, forgiveness and restoration. Think about what steps you can take to work on areas of your life that need healing to include mental health, self-discipline, jealousy, obsessive compulsive disorders, suspicion, self-mastery or managing finances. If you know where Scorpio sits in your natal chart, think about the topics of this House as well as where your Mars resides. These themes can all tie in with the Scorpio archetype when thinking about what you want to achieve in this area over the next 27 months.

This is not a time of action but a time for planting.  Think about what you want to create until we can better see what comes to light with the next Quarter Moon in Scorpio on August 15, 2021 at 23 degrees.

In closing, the degree of this New Moon coincides with the Sabian Symbol, “Crowds Coming Down The Mountain To Listen To One Inspired Man.” This speaks to a large number of people receiving a message. Some will resonate with what they hear. Others won’t. Inherent is a scene mirroring the idea of relationship and working through differences as I mentioned earlier. There is potential for unity but how will the message be received? This might be something to contemplate and work into the New Moon intentions you set at this time.

Libra New Moon October 16, 2020.

This New Moon is at 23 degrees and 54 minutes of Libra occurring at 2:31 PM Central Time on October 16, 2020. The root energy in the date of this Moon is 12/3–Create. This is similar to the root energy of last month’s New Moon in Virgo which was 21/3. The number 3 relates to creating and in the Tarot, “The Empress” card is the archetype associated with 3 energy. The Empress embodies Venus energy which is also the planet that rules this New Moon in Libra.

Libra is Cardinal Air energy– energy that initiates. In Libra, we are working with themes around equality and fairness in relationships, harmony, teamwork, negotiation skills, refinement and healing co-dependency. New Moons are ideal for planting seeds but this new moon is a little tricky.

It’s challenging in that it squares Pluto and Saturn in Capricorn and opposes retrograde Mars in Aries. While thinking in terms of seeking peace and harmony as reflected in Libra, it comes up against aggressive energy from Mars and also tension with Pluto and Saturn. Saturn might represent the old order and Pluto can bring up the stuff we’d just as soon keep buried and not deal with.

In addition, Venus the ruler of this new moon, is in opposition to Neptune which can tend to color things the way we’d like to see them. Neptune can bring illusion and deception–seeing things through rose colored glasses.

New Moons are ideal for planting seeds and with this one, it might be mindful to look at relationships in your life that are off balance and view them for what they really are and not what you ideally would like them to be or what you thought they should be. Work within the reality of the relationship in finding peace and harmony with what is–not as you would idealize or romanticize it to be.

Venus is also in the sign of Virgo at this time. Virgo brings us back to reality with discernment. Focus on the good and let go of the rest. This New Moon has the potential to bring relationships into perspective. You might not have everything you dreamed of but do you have what you need? Focus on the good. Venus is making a pleasing aspect with Jupiter highlighting what we value in relationship.

If you want to work consciously with this energy, this is the beginning of a new cycle, so now would be an ideal time to take part in this process. I like to keep a journal and track this cycle which takes about 27 months to complete.

Here are some practical tips to help work with this New Moon:

  1. Within 8 hours of the Libra New Moon on October 16, 2020 (again, the time is 2:31 PM if you’re in the Central Time Zone) jot down your New Moon Wishes in your journal. I like to keep a separate “Moon Journal” for the entire 27 month process.
  2. I usually write at least three wishes or intentions but no more than 10 which tends to dilute the energy. It’s also important to hand write your wishes.
  3. Find the area of your chart where Libra rules and tailor your thoughts around the themes of this house as well as the archetype of Libra. This allows you to work with this energy and makes it personal to you.

Let your intentions revolve around bringing peace into this area of your life. Think about what steps you can take to help this area be more harmonious. If this is in the area relating to your 5th House, you might think about your relationship with your children or how you express yourself creatively. If you know where Libra sits in your natal chart, think about the topics of this House as well as where your Venus resides. These themes can all tie in with the Libra archetype when thinking about what you want to achieve in this area over the next 27 months.

This is not a time of action but a time for planting.  Think about what you want to create until we can better see what comes to light with the First Quarter Moon in Libra on July 17, 2021 at 25 degrees and 4 minutes.

In closing, the degree of this New Moon coincides with the Sabian Symbol, “A 3rd Wing On The Left Side of A Butterfly.” Libra loves balance and this imagery implies imbalance. Where are you overdoing or expecting more than is possible in a relationship? The “left side” in this symbol could be our intuitive or spiritual side so it could be a sign to focus more on that in working with this new moon.

Dane Rudhyar translates this symbol as “the ability to develop, for inner strengthening, new modes of response to basic life situations“. The Ancients spoke of the butterfly as a symbol of spiritual rebirth. A butterfly with three wings emphasizes the energy of today’s date and the creative energy of “The Empress” archetype mentioned earlier. Three is a symbol of fulfillment. Despite the conflict and tension surrounding this new moon, we might look to this moon as potential for developing a new way of viewing or bringing about peace and harmony within the reality of relationship.

Aries Full Moon 2020

Farmer’s Almanac Image

The first day of October brings in the Harvest Full Moon in Aries. Yes, Full Moons tend to be emotional and this Full Moon will be no exception with its ruler Mars Rx still in a square aspect with Saturn.

It won’t be unusual to see in others or feel within yourself a heightened level of frustration. Mars Square Saturn can feel like having one foot on the brake pedal with the other pushing down on the gas. You want to move ahead, but feel blocked or stuck.

Why is this Moon referred to as the Harvest Moon? During this time of year, the Moon is close to the equator and closer to Earth. The light reflected is brighter. As people were harvesting their crops, this bright Moon provided a little more light which enabled them more time to work into the evening to get their crops in.

This additional light and the increased energy in Mars might allow us more vitality and energy to complete projects. Look to the area that Aries occupies in your own chart for some themes that might help expend this energy.

On the other hand, the Full Moon might also shed some light where we’ve been spinning our wheels. Is there something you’ve been pushing to make happen that’s going nowhere? You may have a realization that it’s time to release this and focus your energy elsewhere or in a new way.

If you’re feeling others are pushing your buttons, Saturn reminds us to set some boundaries. Don’t feel you have to do anything you’re not ready or on board with doing. It’s ok to take your time and think through before taking action.

The Sabian Symbol for this Moon is “A Teacher Gives New Symbolic Forms To Traditional Images.” This is ideal for reinventing something. Spin it your way. Just because it’s been done before, it hasn’t been done your way. This brings in the pioneering energy of Aries. Strike out and make your own mark.

The Sabian Symbol for the Sun which directly opposes the Moon during a Full Moon is, “A Canoe Approaching Safety Through Dangerous Waters.” This feels calming and reminds me of the 6 of Swords in the Tarot. There is a sense of coming out of something difficult and releasing the past. It’s time to rest and release as we begin to do with a Full Moon and move towards the waning cycle.

So while, the ruler of this Full Moon is in a tense aspect with Saturn, it may be a nudge to not give up. We might just need to adjust our approach. Although you’ve felt some frustration, slow down and look at ways you can put your personal mark on what you’re putting your efforts in. How can you still achieve your goal but with a different approach?

The Sun is strong in Leo and this New Moon gains even more power with help from Mars, also strong in the sign of Aries.

Leo is Fixed energy– energy that doesn’t waver. It gets the job done. New Moons are ideal  for planting seeds, but this New Moon is especially powerful.

If you want to work consciously with this energy, this is the beginning of a new cycle, so now would be an ideal time to take part in this process. I like to keep a journal and track this cycle which takes about 27 months to complete.

  1. Within 8 hours of the Leo New Moon on August 18, 2020 (again, the time is 9:41 PM if you’re in the Central Time Zone) jot down your New Moon Wishes in your journal. I like to keep a separate “Moon Journal” for the entire 27 month process.
  2. I usually write at least three wishes or intentions but no more than 10 which tends to dilute the energy. It’s also important to hand write your wishes.
  3. Find the area of your chart where Leo rules and tailor your thoughts around the themes of this house as well as the archetype of Leo. This allows you to work with this energy and makes it personal to you.

To help give some ideas about this archetype, Leo rules Love and Romance, Creativity, Generosity, Celebrations, Dignity, Leadership, Courage, and Authenticity to name a few. Leo leads from the heart.

Let your intentions revolve around finding the courage to speak your mind, to be who you are, finding ways to bring more fun into your life or encouraging children to express their creative talents. If you know where Leo sits in your natal chart, think about the topics of this House as well as where your Sun resides. These themes can all tie in with the Leo archetype when thinking about what you want to achieve in this area over the next 27 months.

This is not a time of action but a time for planting.  Think about what you want to create until we can better see what comes to light with the next Quarter Moon in Leo close to the 26 degree marker.

In closing, the degree of this New Moon coincides with the Sabian Symbol, “Daybreak”. Recall the Sun and how it rises each morning to provide light and warmth. In a world that feels chaotic and inconsistent, we can always count on the Sun to rise to the occasion. This is a period of transition. New ideas and opportunities are emerging. There is the promise of a new day–a new beginning.

Planting A Seed With The New Moon in Cancer July 20, 2020

cancer

It seems like eclipse season would never end. We finally have a chance to set New Moon intentions again with this second New Moon in Cancer that is not an eclipse.

This New Moon is at 28 degrees of Cancer at 12:32 PM Central Time on July 20, 2020 and will oppose Saturn. This might be an opportunity to get serious about what nurtures us and how we nurture others. Maybe we need to set some boundaries about what we need vs what demands are being made on us from society, our career or what someone else thinks we should do.

What brings security? Do we have a good balance between emotional security vs financial security or are we sacrificing one for the other? Is our emotional security compromised by what we feel we need to do or feel we’re expected to do?

The Cancer archetype has to do with our family of origin–our roots and foundation. I especially like that the date of this New Moon on July 20, 2020 holds the energy of 13/4. This is about transforming our foundation. Building something new in this area of our chart. A solid base.

This New Moon is Cardinal energy. Cardinal is action oriented and wants to move forward with something and the New Moon is the perfect time to plant the seed. The 1st Quarter Moon in Cancer nine months from now will determine whether or not we want to take action and move forward with our intentions.

If you want to work with this moon energy, this is the beginning of a new cycle, so now would be an ideal time to consciously start this process. I like to keep a journal and track this cycle which takes about 27 months to complete.

Here are some practical tips to help work with this New Moon:

  1. Within 8 hours of the Cancer New Moon on July 20, 2020 (again, the time is 12:32 PM if you’re in the Central Time Zone) jot down your New Moon Wishes in your journal. I like to keep a separate “Moon Journal” for the entire 27 month process.
  2. I usually write at least three wishes or intentions but no more than 10 which tends to dilute the energy. It’s also important to hand write your wishes.
  3. Find the area of your chart where Cancer  rules and tailor your thoughts around the themes of this house as well as the archetype of Cancer. This allows you to work with this energy and makes it personal to you.

To help give some ideas on this archetype, Cancer is tied to Home and Family, Safety, Nurturing, Feelings and Emotional Security. So, your wishes might revolve around intentions of purchasing a new home, home improvement, releasing negative emotions and early childhood conditioning, or nurturing new beginnings.

Cancer is also ruled by the Moon which can be associated with Mother, the Divine Feminine and physically the chest area, stomach and pancreas.

Remember, now is not the time to take action with these thoughts. It’s a time to plant the seed and contemplate about it over the next 9 months until we can better see what comes to light with the next Quarter Moon in Cancer close to the 28 degree marker.
